Private Residence at Bhadravathi

The Bhadravathi Residence is a private villa interior project where Grayspace’s restrained design sensibility meets thoughtful planning and tactile warmth. Conceived as a calm and grounded home, the interior design integrates timeless materials, natural light, and functional zoning to create spaces that feel personal and enduring.

With each space, there is a deliberate effort to balance aesthetic refinement with practical living — subtle detailing, harmonious proportions, and a muted tropical-modern vocabulary help anchor the design across all rooms.

Bedrooms

The master bedroom is designed to feel immersive and tranquil, featuring a backdrop of botanical wallpaper, soft olive-green fluted panelling, and timber accents. Gentle cove lighting highlights textures, while layered bedding and minimal brass elements elevate the quiet sophistication of the room.

In contrast, the guest bedroom takes on a more geometric treatment — fluted wall panels, marble cladding on either side of the bed, and upholstered finishes in soft grey and sage green. The result is a restful yet structured space with warmth in every detail.

Study & Functional Corners

A dedicated study nook is seamlessly carved into the bedroom, using vertical ribbed panelling, fluted glass cabinetry, and an integrated wood-toned desk. This creates a focused work environment that doesn’t disrupt the overall aesthetic of the bedroom.

A separate reading corner adds texture through woven cane, open shelving, and concealed lighting — offering a place for pause and reflection.

Living Room

The living area is conceptualized as the heart of the home — a space that invites gathering yet retains a calm spatial order. An L-shaped grey sofa defines the seating layout, flanked by green upholstered armchairs. A backlit timber ceiling element creates rhythm overhead, while the wall behind features floating shelves with brass framing for art, books, and objects.

A large calligraphic artwork adds a powerful cultural gesture, tying the space together with meaning and character.

Material & Light

The palette throughout the residence is rooted in earthy, textural materials: kota and marble flooring, natural oak finishes, terracotta tones, cane, matte black hardware, and brushed brass. Lighting is layered — with cove washes, recessed accents, and task lighting — to create depth and softness across different times of day.

Design Philosophy

Grayspace approached this home with the intent to create spaces that are not only beautiful, but deeply liveable — where quiet luxury is expressed through proportion, material honesty, and the small everyday rituals of home life. The Bhadravathi Residence stands as a testament to that ethos: warm, timeless, and wholly personal.
